Summer activities in St Anton

After the skiing season finishes, St Anton becomes a glorious, sunny summer destination. Its mountains, streams, rivers, waterfalls and lakes create a wonderful environment for a varied range of sports and activities: from half marathons and marathons to music and film festivals, from soccer and volleyball tournaments, cycling tours and races to traditional fetes such as the returning of the cattle.

Segway

Fun awaits the whole family at the high ropes course in Verwall. The Arlberg region is also world famous for climbers of all abilities. Via ferrate is one of the most demanding Alpine tours but the Schnann Gorge and Climbing Practice Course offer climbing for all levels.

The superb network of 300km of marked hiking trails allows you to explore the area. The big ski lifts are open during the summer giving easy access to the whole mountain. Watch marmots on the Gampen. Sit by the lakes above St.Christoph. Picnic by the children's play area in Verwall or follow the path across the Rendl.

Enjoy a Segway tour. A guide will instruct you how to use the Segway and then take you on an exciting trip around St Anton through the woods and along the river on an off road track. There are three tours per day and children from the age of 12 can join in.

St Anton has around 200km of scenic and diverse routes that are well marked and bikes can be hired. There are trails for all abilities, from easy going rides to demanding tours. Or cycle to Landeck, which is downhill and take the train back.

The new Arl.rock sports centre offers indoor tennis courts, squash courts, bowling lanes, badminton courts, an indoor football pitch and indoor volleyball courts. Its climbing centre has 460m2 of indoor climbing wall, 250m2 of outdoor climbing wall for beginners, intermediates and experts and 6 boulders in 6 different grades of difficulty. There are also several outdoor tennis courts.



Segway

Kayaking and rafting offer great excitement. From calm waters of the lakes to the running rapids on one of the local rivers, various companies organise guided trips both for beginners and the more experienced. Canyoning is another cool way to explore the valleys. Fully kitted out in wet suits and helmets, you hike through the canyon and explore the rivers, climbing, jumping and sliding down waterfalls.

St. Anton offers its summer guests a charming 6-hole golf course which provides challenges and pleasure for beginners and advanced players. The museum, which is housed in a beautiful chalet, has a fun crazy golf course.

The scenic indoor pool has a waterfall and a flume which leads to a heated outdoor-sports pool and whirlpool. For little ones, there is an exhilarating collection of wading pool and slides. A sauna world and fitness studio complete the experience.

Bregenz houses the world's largest floating stage, where many wonderful open-air performances are held. Its Kunsthaus is one of the leading museums for contemporary art in Europe. A beautiful train ride, part of the track of the Orient Express, takes you to the quaint historic town of Innsbruck in less than an hour. Or visit Salzburg, where Mozart was born and part of the Sound of Music was filmed.
